Welcome to St. Helens United Methodist Church!
Open Doors. Open Minds. Open Hearts

Homecoming Begins with an Open Door

As summer gives way to fall, we begin a new worship series called Homecoming. It is an invitation to come home—to God, to one another, and to our community.
One of the gifts I have discovered at St. Helens is your willingness to create spaces where people can connect naturally. Whether through Bible study or community gatherings, you have shown that faith grows not only in worship, but also around tables,  conversations, and shared experiences.
Homecoming reminds us that the church is never complete. There is always room for one more story, one more family, one more friendship.
As we move into this new ministry season, I hope we will continue doing what St. Helens does so well—creating welcoming spaces where people feel safe to ask questions, build relationships, and grow in faith. At the same time, perhaps God is inviting us to take one more step: to bring that same spirit beyond our walls and into the life of our community.
After all, the church's front door is not the only door God asks us to open.
May this Homecoming season inspire us to open our hearts a little wider, welcome a few more neighbors, and discover once again the joy of sharing Christ's love through simple acts of hospitality.
Sometimes the first step home begins with someone saying,
"We're glad you're here."
