Ministry Opportunuties

In 2012 they began the St. Helens School District Backpack program.  This past school year, along with support from other community groups and donations from individuals, the Backpack program provided weekend food for approximately 200 children every week.

Many of the church members help with the once-a-week community meals served out of the Lutheran Church.  And the women’s group, Women in Service, provide the cookies once a month.  In addition, the Women in Service are active in helping children and teens through a variety of community organizations.

Spirituality is experienced in a variety of ways.  During the school year we have a zoom Bible study each Wednesday evening.  Sometimes this is looking at specific scriptures, others times it may be on a specific subject, and other times we may read and discuss a book.

For those for whom art is a creative spiritual outlet there is the weekly Creative Workshop: The Art of Prayer.  Music is an important part of this congregation.  We are a “singing United Methodist congregation” and have a church choir that provides special music for worship throughout the school year.

In addition, our congregation is blessed by several on our preaching team, who not only supply our own church when needed, as well as churches in the connection.
